Friends of Hollingworth Lake is a group of residents, users, visitors and local businesses with the aim of developing and improving new and existing facilities, the local environment and the safety of the Hollingworth Lake Country Park (HLCP) area for the benefit of all.

 

 

Aims and Objectives

Friends are a not for profit group, formed in June 2007 with support and encouragement from Rochdale Metropolitan Borough Council. Our aims are:

To further or benefit the residents, users and visitors of hollingworth lake country park and the neighbourhood, without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or of political, religious or other opinions by associating together the said residents, users and visitors and the local authority, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education regarding the nature within and history of hollingworth lake country park and to work to improve the hollingworth lake country park facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation leisure time with the objective of improving the hollingworth lake country park for the residents, users and visitors.

What do we do?

The group meets regularly to discuss issues concerning Hollingworth Lake Country Park and to organise:

Enviro-gym

During 2010 the Friends of Hollingworth Lake were successful in obtaining a grant from the Community Spaces fund which enabled the group to complete the Enviro-gym off Rakewood Road. Here are some photographs from the launch event which was held on the 7th of August 2010.
